pearl jewelry Chian
It looks like a diamond ring, it sparkles like a diamond ring and it endures like diamond ring but it is definitely not a diamond ring. How do you know it's not a diamond ring? It's priced like a moissanite ring. There is a buzz in the fashion industry about moissanite rings and jewelry and it's getting around fast.
Moissanite is pearl jewelry Chian a mineral that was discovered over a century ago, but until a few years ago it was too rare to use as jewelry. Now, moissanite rings and jewelry are on the rise and not just because they're a diamond "substitute." Moissanite jewelry can actually be better looking than diamond jewelry because the stones have more "fire" and brilliance than diamonds. It's a measurable, scientific fact. Some stones posing as diamond look-alikes, cubic zirconia for example, have some shine and sparkle, but none of them come close to the diamond, much less exceed it.
By far the biggest benefit of tin cup pearl necklace purchasing moissanite rings and jewelry is the cost. A three stone moissanite ring, equaling two carats will probably run right around $1000. A similar diamond ring will set you back over $5000. Investing in moissanite jewelry rings is just as safe as investing in diamonds. They are harder than any other gemstones; diamonds are the only ones still harder, and moissanite is barely behind, making them just as durable and very appropriate for everyday wear. Moissanite jewelry rings also carry lifetime warranties most of the time. And just like diamonds, moissanite holds its value.
Even though moissanite rings and jewelry are less expensive than diamonds, buying moissanite does not carry the "fake" diamond stigma, because of the single pearl necklace high quality stones. More and more couples are choosing to purchase three stone moissanite rings instead of choosing diamonds when it comes time to make wedding decisions and celebrities like Vivica Fox, Kiko Elsworth, the members of (the former group) Destiny's Child, and Marc Anthony are choosing to purchase and wear moissanite jewelry.
Before you purchase a moissanite ring, there are some things you will want to know. Just like diamonds, moissanite has varying color hues ranging from almost colorless to shades of green, sometimes even looking grey. Many consider this color very elegant and a green moissanite ring would be a great conversation starter but if you're concerned about the color, be sure to examine your potential stones in varying types of twisted pearl necklace light. The green hues are most visible in natural light so they might not show up under the bright lights at the jewelry store.
So when it comes time to spend some of your hard earned money on yourself and add some glitter to those hardworking hands, or if you're looking for a special gift for a loved one, buying a moissanite ring might be the best choice you can make. |

dancing pearl
Turquoise, the dancing pearl lovely gemstone that is used in silver turquoise jewelry. It has been used for decorative purposes for many thousands of years and is well known as the gemstone used in the attractive jewelry made by Native Americans. Intense blue turquoise is the most highly prized, but is much rarer than green stones. Some blue stones also fade to green over time as they are exposed to sunlight.
The blue color of the Keishi pearl stones comes from copper oxide which is present in trace amounts in this aluminum phosphate crystal. Other colors, such as yellow, may be present which arises from traces of zinc and green which comes from iron. The wide array of colors of natural turquoise comes from different combination's of these elements. The blue color of some high quality stones, such as Persian turquoise does not fade and remains intense indefinitely.
Some gemstones have a major color with the surface marked by a spider web pattern of lines of different colors. The lines are caused by uneven dispersal of the nugget pearl various elements present in the precious stone and the lines might be yellow, black or brown in many patterns. However unmarked gems are more valued than those with a spider web matrix while turquoise precious stones of a deep blue color, even though they have a spider web matrix, are more valued than yellow or green pure gemstones. Natural turquoise gems of a pure color, that is without a spider web matrix, are much rarer and are extremely highly valued.
Turquoise Treatments
Less than 10% of the turquoise used in jewelry is natural, finest quality gemstone. Over 90% is treated from rough turquoise to make it hard enough to be used. The process also improves resilience and enhances the gem's color. Turquoise mined in a number of countries, i.e. China, is always too soft and needs to be treated. In spite of this the procedure yields beautiful gems, which, although less valuable than unprocessed stones, nevertheless make wonderful jewelry.
These procedures enhance the color of the gemstones as well as making them tougher which makes them last longer. A procedure that can be used to rice pearl boost the color consists of injecting a dye in epoxy resin into the stone. The color is durable and will not fade. The soft Chinese turquoise is hardened by injecting liquid plastic into the stone. A further approach is to inject epoxy resin without a dye that will stabilise the gem but will not change the color.
Imitation turquoise is also made from powdered turquoise that has been mixed with a plastic binder. This kind of turquoise is naturally very inexpensive and virtually worthless. These imitation stones are often sold fraudulently as high quality natural turquoise turquoise and are often waxed or plastic coated.
Looking After Turquoise Stones
Turquoise is both soft and porous so must be looked after carefully. It shouldn't be worn at times when scratching can be occur and ought to be protected from blows always. Never wear turquoise jewelry for gardening or to do the washing up! Put away turquoise jewelry in a box lined with soft material such as velvet and do not store with other, harder gems which may possibly scratch the gems.
Turquoise gems can absorb liquids so keep them away from oils, chemicals or hot water and even cosmetics and perfumes. These could be absorbed by the stone which may dull or even change it's color. You can clean turquoise with very mild soapy water and then drying thoroughly with a soft cloth. Make sure it is dried completely before you store it away and on no account use an ultrasonic cleaner as they may result in cracking of the stone.
In Conclusion
This lovely blue gemstone is rare and highly prized. Although it needs to be looked after carefully and kept away from sunlight to prevent the color from changing it looks wonderful when made into silver turquoise jewelry. The gorgeous blue color of the stones is perfectly complimented by silver and suits any skin tone. You will wear your jewelry with pride for many years to come. |

Medical School Reinvented: Compassion
Miami - At the start of the new school year, a dream is finally coming true for Hanadys Ale.
Photo: Medical school reinvented: Adding lessons in compassion: The education of doctors puts new focus on patients' cultural diversity and serving communities in need.
The curriculum at Florida International University will pearl pendant pair each student with a low-income family facing barriers to healthcare.
She has wanted a career in medicine since girlhood, when she saw how compassionately a doctor treated her grandmother at their home in Cuba. But she interrupted her medical studies to move to Miami with her family. Now, having mastered English, she's back on track as one of 43 students in the inaugural class of the new medical school at Florida International University (FIU).
But the curriculum here is no conventional training, representing one of the most thorough reinventions of medical education in a century.
Known as NeighborhoodHELP, it will pair each student with a low-income family facing barriers to health care. With teams of fellow students from nursing and social work, the aspiring doctors will observe and support the families throughout their years in medical school. Alongside more traditional medical lessons, they'll get steady doses related to freshwater pearl pendant ethics, cultural understanding, and public-health policy.

Ms. Ale says, in a phone interview, that she was drawn to this program at FIU because it emphasizes serving communities in need. "It's changing the way medicine is seen in the United States, so we are like double pioneers," she says of her class.
Medical education in the United States is in a period of expansion, with at least a dozen new schools under development and classes expanding at more than 100 existing schools.
"This opening of new medical schools ... [is] an opportunity for innovation and experimentation," says George Thibault of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation in New York. Many medical schools still reflect standards set after a 1910 report by Abraham Flexner, he says, and while those standards are essential, they have not kept pace with changing technology and demographics.
FIU's approach exemplifies many freshwater pearl pendant recommendations made in a Macy report last year, including a focus on the needs of society rather than of the profession, Dr. Thibault says. |
